Steven TylerAfter a stint in the Boston club circuit, under the tutelage of their first manager Frank Connelly, the band began working with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. The band's debut album, which was called "Eponymous" and was released in 1973. They got a recording contract in the year 1972. The album was later followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. It brought Aerosmith worldwide fame and recognition. These albums produced famous hits like "Dream on", "Walk This Way", and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. But as the decade progressed the fast-paced lifestyle of performing, recording, sharing a home, and consuming substances began to take its toll on the group. Because of their famed use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were identified as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music and many video releases of Aerosmith reveal their relationship. Tyler was more committed to Aerosmith and appeared to dislike Perry's aloof attitude. Perry, however, liked Tyler's choices for females in her life. The tension between Tyler, Perry, and their once-friendly girlfriends was an important factor in the decline of Aerosmith around 1980.
