Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko, a former UFC Flyweight titleholder and UFC fellow fighter is her younger sister. Antonina Shevchenko, an experienced Muay Thai kickboxer, began her fight sports career at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won this tournament in a unified victory against Suzane Miller. Antonina Shevchenko took home another medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008, a gold in the year 2011, and won in the position of IFMA Amateur World Muay Thai Champion in the year 2016. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. She won in 2012 her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the final round of Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko set the professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She was 3-0 after winning in the second round TKO. The following two bouts came at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to concentrate on kickboxing. She returned to the ring in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa with a unanimous win. She then went on to knock out Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She was a part of the Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability at the end of the fight by using knees on the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended after this win. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi in the unanimous verdict. She then was unable to win her next fight because of an unanimous verdict. Antonina recovered from her loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the fight of the night reward in the fight. Shevchenko was 2-2 in her three subsequent matches she won against Ariane Lipski, while being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
