Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY;[1] born March 17 the 17th of March, 1988) is professionally known as Grimes she is a Canadian musician as a singer, songwriter, recording producer, and singer. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning is described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has used elements of hip hop, electronic and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address gender issues and science fiction. The singer has recorded five albums. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later moving to Montreal), Grimes began publishing music at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album with Arbutus Records. Later, she signed with 4AD and became a household name following the release of her third studio album, Visions which came out in the year 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, debuted in 2015. Numerous publications praised it as one of the greatest albums. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album. Grimes has also been an actress and judge in Alter Ego's music competitions, performed as the vocalist for Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in the year 2020.
